I love old movies, and one thing I look forward to every August is TCM's Summer Under the Stars. They showcase one actor each day for the month. For that whole day, they play films with the spotlight actor. The actor could star in the movie or have a tiny part. As long as they're in the movie, there's a chance it will get shown on that day. The pro's of Summer Under the Stars is that if you like an actor, you might see some obscure film with them or even one that's more common but still doesn't get played as much regularly. But, if you don't like an actor or don't like the types of movies they do, then you can pretty much guess that their spotlight day is going to be empty for you as far as movies on TCM. I'm not a silent movie fan so any movies set during that time are out for me.
