I know that I told you all about a blog that I created called Hidden Treasures Online. I created this blog and intended to use it to help other Internet users find Hidden Treasures. It recently has occurred to me that it is also just as important to bring to your attention sites that are not so great, and that are in reality Hidden Nightmares.
I would also like these to be emailed to me at, HiddenTreasuresBlog@gmail.com. If I do get enough of these emails I may start another blog specifically for this, but for now I would just like to add this to this blog. Please be sure to send me any information that you have on fraud, scam or unsafe sites out there (except your personal information of course). I understand you may be very upset or hurt after being scammed, but please help to pass the message along so that others do not have the same bad experiences as you!
Let’s all work together to try to stop all of these dirty scammers in their tracks!
On my other blog I often get emails requesting that I touch on a certain topic. I really enjoy getting these emails, but I really need help with one of the ones that I got. I know how I would handle this specific situation, but I don’t know about how others would. I simply tried to do some research on the topic, but surprisingly enough there is not very much information on this subject. I figured this was the best place to get a variety of responses and opinions.
My readers question was… “What is the appropriate etiquette for asking a stranger to stop a rude behavior? Examples: coughing on someone/not covering mouth when sneezing on the train, flicking cigarette ashes onto a person walking behind them in the city.
Sometimes I feel like I just have to stick up for someone or myself. I don't think it's right to hold anger in over these small issues. What do you suggest?”
My personal experience in situations like this often are when people smoke around young children, or act inappropriately in front of them. I know how I deal with it, but I would also have to say that I do not have a whole lot of patients when it comes to someone trying to kill my family because they want to smoke.
As I said when I tried to do research on this subject it was not very helpful, many people just said to ask them to stop. However, I know that in my past experiences only about 1 in every 15 actually stop the first time you ask them to.
How do you deal with this situation? How would you like someone to deal with it if they were to have an issue with you?
I decided that I want to get a few different play lists started for myself, and to share with my readers on a few different blogs. I used to always make CD’s all the time to fit any mood that I may feel at the time. However, ever since I got my Zune I tend to just shuffle through a variety of genre’s or all albums instead of taking the time to make all of my individual play lists. I have decided it is now time to change that though. I am a big believer of Music Therapy, and I believe that the right songs can truly change your whole mood or relieve tension you are feeling about a certain situation! I have been talking to a few people about what their specific play lists include, but we have very similar taste so it has not got me a whole lot of extra variety on top of what I already listen to. That is when I decided that asking you guys what your favorite play lists, or songs are in different categories maybe it can helped to broaden my spectrum even more! Or maybe just remind me of songs that I have forgot!
I am looking to make the following play lists at least, so if you have songs that fit into these categories please share them! Or please share your entire play list if you would like, whether it fits into these categories or not!
*Break – Up’s (sad songs … time to cry)
*Break – Up’s (empower yourself songs)
*Empower yourself songs (for any event of life)
*Time for a good night out (music to get you ready to party)
*I love you (all those mushy gushy songs ha)
*Celebrating life (without being religious, but counting your blessings)
*Friendship Fun (Things to listen to with a good group of friends)
*Girls Night Out (Pretty self explanatory)
*Oldies but goodies (all kinds of just good oldies)
*Top Country Songs
*Top Rock Songs
*Top Punk Songs
*Top Alternative Songs
*Top R&B Songs
*Your Favorites of all times!
I am sure that I am forgetting quite a bit of categories, but just let me know if you think that there is any that I forgot. I can’t wait to get introduced to new music, or reminded of old! I will always be looking for more music so no matter how old this blog gets, just feel free to add your likes!
I have had an idea for a blog for a long time and I am finally getting it into gear! I have started a blog called Hidden Treasures Online. Currently I am starting this blog with Blogspot.com, but I will be posting my articles on other sites as well. This blog is dedicated to Hidden Treasures Online, I would like to include ones that are offline but unless they are in Denver I have no way to review the company. To describe it in short this is to try to help trustworthy, honest small companies get their names a bit more known for free. We all know that advertising takes money, and let’s face it we don’t always have enough! Small businesses, bloggers, or new businesses especially don’t have a lot of money to promote themselves in this economy. That does not mean that they do not deserve the acknowledgement or praise, so that is why I am doing this… for FREE!
You can visit Hidden Treasures Online here at hiddentreasuresonline.blogspot.com! Please follow us, as well as recommend companies to us! Below is a more in depth description of our plans and goal!
I run my own E-Commerce website (Plenty~O~Gifts), and I know how hard to is to get your name out there to other people when you have a small budget to work with. I saw a few different blogs and websites that focus time on bringing unknown small businesses to light. I thought that it would be a great idea to make a whole blog focusing on all the many hidden treasures online. Blogs, small businesses, home businesses, musicians, writers, and anything else that is requested of me!
If you know of a company, group, website, band, blog or anything else that you think is a hidden treasure just let me know. I will research it and write about it! Some blog posts will be on more than just this website though. They may be put onto other freelance websites, so let me know if that would be an issue when requesting an article from me! You can submit all your requests to hiddentreasuresblog@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you all!
Once a request has been made it will be added to the list to consider for our next review. The only reason an article request will not be honored is if the company is offensive to anyone of any nature. I also will choose to not write an article if I feel that the company requested is not of typical standards. We understand that these are small businesses, but we will not promote a company that is not trustworthy and that does not have a trustworthy message to send.
Have your own things to say about your requested company? Be sure to leave those comments in your email when requesting the review. I will include some of my own input, but your comments will be gladly included as well.
Hello all! I need some help so where else would I go other than here, to all of my wonderful sidetick friends?! I have decided to host my own blogs instead of using free sites any longer. Now, before I get the ball rolling I wanted to get advice on what a great amazing blog name is!
I currently have my site Tina's Supplied Honesty. It is a relationship site, where I tell you the truth no matter how painful it may be. I love this blog name, but I am planning on keeping that blog where it is on today for awhile so I want to make sure I have just as great of name but for my new blog.
I have not decided exactly how things on the blog will work either. See if I can find one amazing name then I will just have one blog that is about absolutely anything that I feel like writing about at that time. If I cannot find one general name that I love then I will be starting a few different blogs that I host.
One for entertainment, one for lifes questions, rants, and raves, etc. :)
So as you may know I also run an e-commerce website. I have been receiving more magazines to help grow my business so I was spending this morning reviewing some of the companies that had ad’s in a magazine I receive called Cover. I found one that seemed it would be really great to work with because of the prices it has, and it offers brand name items. I will leave this company nameless because they do really seem to have a lot of potential. However, I cannot just go without asking WTF is going on with your site. It is a very large site, and widely advertises that they have at least 5 other sites as well. As I know from running my own site, and watching my boyfriend going through college right now programming is no joke. It takes a lot of work, and a lot of knowledge. Therefore, if this company was to be making their own website don’t you think they would have to be educated enough to understand common English rules? And if they are paying someone else to make their site, don’t you think that they should be helping with proper English?
I guess it is not right for me to assume that if they are using a company to make their site, that they are using an American one. Either way, they even state that they have a number of employees in MD. Someone there has to understand the common rules of the English language I would think. I have saw many sites lately of immigrants, or people from other countries who are doing website development, or programming that have minor issues on their site with spelling or grammar. I think that is understandable, maybe it should be brought to their attention as a friendly FYI. I do not even do that though because I do not want to be offensive. Here are the issues that I have saw on this site, and this is all from just two of their pages!
“If you'd have a account, click here to sign in.” – Okay, how can you possibly ever think that this is okay? I am not that great with grammar and still pretty obvious to me! Not only do you not use the proper words, you cannot even use spaces?!
“Our address is: InterTradeMall.com 12345 and 67890 B***** Dr., Beltsville, MD 20705 USA”
Okay, now on this one, I understand that you can have two addresses. I just really do not understand the point of putting your address up like this. As well as wonder, do you really not organize your mail at all? I am often told I have a minor case of OCD and organization, but don’t you at least want to what is going where? I even have 4 or 5 email addresses to keep it all so organized!
“If order is less than $100.00, $5.00 service fee for order under $100.00 will be charged except $3.00 drop-ship fee.” –Okay do I even need to say anything about this sentence? And if you understand what it means can you please get back to me because I am LOST! J
“Our staffs will be glad to answer any questions for you.” – Again, I do not need to say anything about this one.
Unfortunately I could not copy and paste this, but they have an order option in the middle of this information page as well… Not really sure what you are going to buy, but it is going to cost you $0.01 each! At least it is pretty dang cheap!
“Welcome to become our new member.” – After signing up with them to see their prices and further details this is what my welcome pop up box said.
Would you feel comfortable doing business with this company?
Recently I had a fellow blogger email me with the idea for my blog, Tina’s Supplied Honesty. Her idea was to write about how to know you found the one, now I am not professional so I do not claim to know how you know! I did however think this would be a great way to restart my blog and include readers at the same time! What better way to hear about how to know when it is right then from many people who in love with the right person!
So here I am asking about what you have to say, as long as you don’t mind being quoted in my blog that is! Here are the questions that I would like you to answer, you can reply as a comment or email them to teenskee@gmail.com! At the end you can also say anything that you would like to say!
How did you know when it was right?
How did you know it was going to last?
How did you know this was the person who was always worth fighting for?
Did you have that one moment when time stops and you realize that this is the one, or did you just realize one day that you couldn’t live without this person any longer?
Did you ever think you had “the one” before, or was it only once and lasted for all time?
If you had one before; how did you realize it wasn't right after all?
What makes “the one” stand apart from all the rest?
Back to the one that you are with now, how long have you been together?
How do you keep things so well between you two?
How do you show your appreciation to them, has this changed over time?
How do they show theirs to you? Is it enough for you, do you wish they would show it differently?
What is your favorite part of your relationship?
What is your least favorite part of your relationship?
I am just forwarding this message on for a long time friend of mine! I think that the best way to feel better about yourself is to help others so step up and help out!!
Some of you know but some of you don't, but my Uncle Ray Davis has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease also called ALS. The kind he has is very fast moving and he will be going home within the next year. There is no treatment for Ray or anyone with ALS. But there is research going on to hopefully stop this fatal disease. So this is where you all come in (hopefully). I am getting a team together to walk this Saturday Sept. 12th in the www.walktodefeatals.org at City Park in Denver. Our team is named Ray's Revolution . So if you feel so inclined checkout the web site above or http://walk.alscolorado.org/index.php?s=42&group_id=204 find our team Ray's Revolution and donate to this cause to defeat ALS. If you would like to forward this on please do, the more people hear about it the better. If you cannot donate please encourage us in this endeavor. Thank you for taking your time to check it out.
Misti!!
p.s. If you would like to donate or join the team and cannot get the group's link to work you can go to the website and select Colorado then the Denver walk then search for the team's name of Ray's Revolution.
I was working on some of my articles for another website I freelance for, with this site I write about things to do in the Denver Metro Area. Thanks to his new job I have a new obsession with collecting as many community magazines and pamphlets as possible so I be sure to write about much more than just the things I already know about and like! Don’t worry I do recycle so once I have marked all over these things then brainstorm with them numerous times I send them off to be recycled. J Anyways this new addiction has brought up a lot of random events I cannot wait to try as well as childhood memories I was curious about! I have come across a pamphlet from YMCA. It is the Fall Program Guide for 2009. I have really wanted to get my niece into these programs and so involved as possible.
While looking through these I was curious as to how many of you use YMCA to get your children involved in your community still? What are you favorite programs? Do you only use their programs for certain seasons? Do you have any recommendations of what to do in your area?
So I don’t know about you, but I know that pretty much the only reason I look forward to checking my mail is because of my trust bright red envelopes that bring me all the must see movies, or TV Seasons! I am a big fan of watching seasons later because then you don’t have to deal with that darn TV suspense and wondering what is going to happen on the next episode. Not to mention that it is almost impossible for me to sit down and actually watch TV at a certain time each day or week to keep up with them. I also hate commercials, well most of them, thanks to the wonderful DVR invention! So now I really enjoy Netflix and the option that they give me to watch my shows and movies instantly on my computer as I work. I began to look through and see all seasons that it recommend to me based on what I liked previously and I wanted ones that I could watch instantly online because I hate silence while I work. It recommend this season called “The L Word” and I could watch all but the first season online so I add it to my queue and send the first season to the top so I can get to the ones that I can watch online. I do not think about it really at all because I have always liked what it recommend before, but this time I did not even read the description of the show. I get the DVD pop it in and think I am about to watch a show about love, ya know I assumed the L word was love! Nope much to my surprise as soon as I start watching it I quickly realize that it is Lesbian not Love!
Don’t get me wrong I have nothing at all against Lesbian’s and actually I support them more than anyone I know! It is just kind of a shocker to realize that your show is quite different from what you expected! I continued to watch all the disks in Season 1, and I begin to wonder why the show is still on air! Netflix has 5 seasons available for them! I am all for a show that supports lesbians, but this one seems like it is poorly made. I am not sure if it is going to get better, but since it went on for so many seasons I have to assume that it has! I am sure it was not very easy to get people to back a show about lesbians six or seven years ago so it probably does not have the budget of some of my more favorite shows as in One Tree Hill or Army Wives. I think the story line is a bit random and choppy as well. I do work while watching any movie or show so maybe it is just not catching my attention enough and I am missing things, but sometimes I really feel confused about how we got to a discussion or situation on the show.
I just got my last disk for season 1 and then I will began to watch all the other seasons online which usually goes quick so I will update you on the show then. Right now I am just curious as to if you have saw the show, if you have how did you find out about it? Did you like The L Word? Have you ever got the same shock by trusting Netflix recommendations too much?
I know that you all probably completly understand how difficult it is to keep up with all of the many social netoworking sites, and if you are like me then very many email adresses as well! If you would like to contact me you can use this feature with Disgby below to chat with me instantly. Or you can follow the links below for even more contact information!

If you live near Pueblo, Co or like road trips I highly recommend that you take a trip to the State Fair! The fair runs in Pueblo from August 28, 2009 thru September 7, 2009. It seems as though that is not a very long time for a fair, but don’t trick yourself that just means that there is so many more action packed exciting experiences to make your trip out to Pueblo fully worth it!
You can find something for everyone at the fair! They have games, rides, concerts, rodeos, and more attractions as well as different themes for each day! You can see a large variety of well known artists at the fair; Rodney Atkins, Darius Rucker, 3oh!3, Trailer Choir, Sawyer Brown, and more! Some of the attractions you can see include a live shark encounter, lumberjack show, and PRCA Rodeo. If you buy a ticket to any of the concerts or attractions then your gate admission is included! One of their concerts are very low priced if not free with the regular gate admission.
Admission for weekdays is $5.00; weekend admission, (which includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday’s) is $8.00 a day. You can get an unlimited ride pass for $25.00 that is good for the day, or a Mega Ride Pass for $80, which includes gate admission all rides and lasts for all 11 days!
You can find all details about the fair and specific times for the events that you are interested in on their website, ColoradoStateFair.com. You can purchase all tickets in advance from their website or from TicketMaster.com as well!
As my last post said I have been on vacation for a few days. I went to Winter Park, Colorado for the most amazing weekend! Every year Winter Park puts on a POW MIA Veteran’s Rally & Festival. This year was the 17th annual in Winter Park. I believe that this is the most meaningful weekend of my year! It is so amazing and so indescribable. Although I say that it is indescribable I will try to describe all of the meaningful vents and moments to you because I think that it is something that many more people need to know about!
I found it sad how many people who have lived in Colorado their whole lives who have said that they never knew this weekend ever existed; personally I find this quite sad! To know that you are only here because these people gave their lives for you, but you have no idea that there is a way to honor them! That is not okay in my book that is why I am here to make the event more known. I will also try to do all that I can to get information on any event such as this one that may be near you. I think that patriotism is one of the most important lessons our children need to learn. I also think that it is all too often put in the back of the mind.
Have you stopped and thought about all the soldiers that have died just to make your life as free, and amazing as it is? Have you taught your children to not only pray and follow your religious path, but to show their thanks and graciousness to the soldiers that laid down their lives for you and your family? I do not mean to offend you, but these are things that should rank high to ever American! I know a large portion of this lack of respect and honor is due to lack of education, but we will work on fixing that one person at a time!
Do you know a person who has served, or is currently serving in the military? Do you have someone that you would like to honor? I would love to hear your stories!
So I sat around trying to think about what it is that I want to focus my writing on here. Those big scary words of pick your niche and stick to it, just are not leaving my head. How do I know what it is that I will want to write about all the time. I am still pretty new to the freelance writing life, and without direct instructions it can be a bit difficult to always find ways to force yourself to write about something within a niche. I thought about focusing on entertainment, but I quickly realized that not only do I want to cover television, movies, music, and gossip. I also want to be able to relate to my readers and discuss things with you that really matter in the everyday world and everyday life. What better way to do that then to write about life! It can include so many things that no matter what you are feeling on a specific day, you can still always write! With that being said, I am going to on vacation with leaving you to think about what is it in life that you treasure the most? What is your favorite thing to do with all of your favorite people? It is different depending upon who you are with or do you just have things you like to include everyone in on? What is your dream weekend? Your dream vacation? What is your biggest goal in life? Where do you want to be in ten years? Are you where you thought you would be ten years ago? What is your favorite part of your life? What is your best memory?
Do you ever just have those moments where you feel like no matter whom you speak to, there really is not anyone there really listening to you? I heard this song today while doing my daily ritual of blasting music while getting ready, I heard this song and it just reminded me of so many different situations it could relate to! It seems like something that could really fit everyone at some point in their life.
I know that there are many times in my life where I just felt like No one would listen, and I wished just one person would really understand what I was trying to say! Because of how often I know I have felt that way I have put a lot of effort on a regular basis to trying to be the best listener that I could possibly be, however, we all know that sometimes we just get so preoccupied that we don’t really know how to be great listeners all the time. That was a large point of this blog actually, when you try to talk to people about your personal life it because a very scary road. Usually you already know them and are already vested in them somehow as they are invested in your life, that generally makes people very biased and unable to see both sides of the picture! It is also very hard for most humans to stand beside you when you didn’t do what they thought you should’ve done.
How many people in your life told you to do something a certain way “because I am older I know what is right, and you do not!” then you do what you feel is best and they throw all the nonstop ‘I told you so’ comments you can ever imagine in your face? Those are people who are really listening are they? Aren’t those people who just heard your words but never listened to the feelings behind them? I know that it is hard to find a common ground with people, I understand that when you are vested within a situation it seems so hard to member to take a step back and look at the bigger picture! I hope to be able to remind even just one of you to do that for someone who you know needs it right now!
This world is a crazy place right now, so many things have changed in the last few years and some people just do not understand how to deal with it, some people just need someone to listen to what their feeling and tell them it is okay to be confused or unsure sometimes! No one is perfect; it is your imperfections that make you a beautiful person! Anyone can claim perfection; it is much harder to claim your faults!
Music therapy… does it really exist? Do you believe in it? When you are really angry, frustrated, sad or excited do you turn to certain music to intensify or fix those moods? Do you have designated playlist on your MP3 player you rely on for those certain days?!
Have you ever gone through a traumatic experience in your life and thought that music was a very large part in getting you through the situation? Have you ever felt that you felt emotions so deeply and no one around you could understand what you were going through? What did you turn to then; did you then turn to music? Have you ever been riding in your car during rush hour on your way home with so much stress and anxiety, then that new song comes on the radio and it picks up your spirits? Did you just get into a fight with your boyfriend and that song comes on that you swear is wrote exactly about this very situation that you went through?! When you have just got into a fight with your best friend and she says that one thing that can cut you so deep, do you ever want to just blast your radio and sign your heart out until you feel all the stress is gone? When you are really stressed out can music help you to relax?
Have you really ever thought about your iPod, Zune, or MP3 player as your therapist? If not what do you think music does for you? I know that for me I can always find some kind of music to fit my mood exactly, they can make you get out all of those emotions you have built up or just help you to feel someone else actually understands what you are going through. Do you make mixed CD’s or playlists before your long road trip? Do you have those varieties of playlists like; love songs, break up songs, party songs, road trip jams, girls night out, and I just want to cry songs? Do you just leave your MP3 player on shuffle through all of your songs because you like the surprises of what may come next?
If you have a song, playlist, or CD that you feel is your life’s soundtrack or something everyone should have to get us through those rough times feel free to share with us! I am always a sucker for a new playlist!
